Toni on huikee! Itsehän en osaa ees kunnolla painttia käyttää, että vaikeeta ois elämä ilman häntä.

Fuksiaisten lähestyessä aloitettiin mainostaminen somessa, eventin päivittely ja julisteiden vieminen eri kampuksille. Lisäksi mun kesä täyttyi artistimietinnöistä, palkintojen etsinnästä ja ihan vaan yleisestä stressaamisesta näistä kemuista.
Itse fuksiaisillan mä aloitin torilta merkkien jaosta.

Hey! It’s the head of events, Milla, here!
A while ago we were having the biggest party in whole autumn, the Freshmen party! There were ten checkpoints and for a first time ever, also a funny bonus checkpoint. Atmosphere was good and everyone seemed to have fun. Also the after party in Tivoli was awesome!
But what did we actually do behind the scenes to arrange this event for you?
My job with the freshmen party started already last spring, when we started to think about the theme. Finally, we ended up with fantasy theme, because of all the possibilities there is with it.
In June, when I came back to Finland from my practical training in Bali, I started really working. We were thinking what would be the good amount of checkpoints and the right persons to plan and run them. I made a guidance to the people running the checkpoints, to which they based their plans for the checkpoint. Everyone got quite a free will for the planning after all. In August, we had Tutor Kick Off, where tutors got to test the freshmen party checkpoints and give feedback.
When checkpoint amount was decided, we needed to find proper checkpoint restaurants. A lot of bars in Lahti city center have been a part of the freshmen party for few years, so contacting them was quite easy. We agreed about taking part via email and in addition to that, me and our chairman visited every restaurant to write contracts. Altogether, there were nine bars aboard, plus the after party bar, Tivoli.
Our lovely head of social policies, Toni, designed all the freshmen party material. This includes party badges, posters, Facebook banner, event passes etc. Toni is awesome! I can’t even use Paint properly, so life would be tough without him.
When the Freshmen party was coming up, we started promoting the event in social media, updating the event and putting up posters to all the campuses. Also my summer was filled with artist decisions, collecting prizes and just stressing about this event.
The actual freshmen party evening I started with sharing event passes and badges. It lasted for about three hours and the rest of the evening, I went around the city to check out that everything was okay at the checkpoint bars. Lastly at Tivoli, we counted the points of the groups and declared the winners, after all this I got to spend a free night.
Free time didn’t last for long, because soon after this, me and my sweet events section started to plan October’s party. See you there, right? There will be something special happening, if you just arrive early! ;)
